Our Agent Search

Greetings. My name is Neil Alexander, and I am the leader of Neil Alexander & NAIL, a cutting edge musical group playing a crossover of jazz, funk, ”jam” and ambient music. We are seeking representation and/or management. Our goal is a full time international touring schedule.
After defining our sound, releasing a new record and establishing ourselves on the local scene, we are seeking an energetic, determined booking agent who is ready to go the distance. I am certain that with the right representation we could be the next Medeski Martin & Wood, Bela Fleck or Pat Metheny Group. I will stop at nothing to accomplish this. Our new CD “Tugging At The Infinite” is a musical tour de force, filled with virtuoso performances, cutting edge technology, and most importantly – ear catching infectious melodies. We recently performed at Moogfest 2007 alongside Thomas Dolby, Jordan Rudess (of Dream Theater), Adam Holzman (Miles Davis) and many others. We blew that room away. I know that given the chance, that we will be serious contenders in the international market. I predict ticket sales in the 5,000 to 7,000 range within 4 years.
Collectively, we have 70 years experience in the biz. I personally have 13 years hard touring experience, with various groups including the well-known Pink Floyd Tribute “The Machine”. In addition to being a bandleader I have worked as a tech and a tour manager, and can easily manage the “nuts and bolts” of a touring musical ensemble, including booking hotels, backline, etc.
We are not one of the many “kids” bands out there today. NAIL is a tight ensemble of seasoned professional musicians who know how to put on an exciting performance. I will do whatever it takes to bring this group to the highest possible level of touring, recording and performing.
We bring to this table our experience, our professionalism, our music, and our enthusiasm – in short, a finished product ready to be presented. There is enormous potential here. I am looking for the person who is ready to step up to the plate with us.

Thanks for your attention.

Short term goals:

Full time east coast work (NY, Boston, Philly, New England, etc.) Regular performances in NYC, at Knitting Factory (small room), 55 Bar, Joe’s Pub, Arlene’s Grocery, etc.
Have performed 2x in the Late Night Groove Series at the Blue Note in NYC. (see pix on website).

Shows in CA, LA area and Northern SF Area. College shows (see below); Radio play / interviews.
(have small fan base in Marin / SF area, also Lomita (So. Cal / LA))

Opening (or small room headline) show at Higher Ground, Burlington VT
VT Retail outlets & Radio play & interview; print press; possible other area show(s).
>I sold that club out many times as a member of the Machine; the talent buyer has promised me a date if I can generate local interest in the Burlington Area. I have hit a few area radio stations already.

College Shows:
Working a bunch of stuff for this market, including educational programs having to do with Jazz and Music performance technology. Obviously, colleges with serious music departments are better candidates. NAIL is a member of both IAJE and CMA.
In addition, student run performance spaces are a good spot, such as the Mug at Vasser College (Poughkeepsie).

Festival Circuit: Jazz and Jam festivals internationally. These gigs will probably help spread the word about us as much as radio & print press.
(I think this is a good lead into the full time touring schedule.)
